Leading
data-logging specialists Signatrol are introducing two new current
measuring versions of their successful low cost SL120 series of
portable data loggers. The SL121i is designed to measure and record
data from 4-20 mA current loops with a resolution to 12 bits. This
precision is essential for logging process control signals and the
loggers can be connected directly into 4-20 mA loops via the 1.5
m lead fitted with crocodile clips as standard. The SL121i is electrically
protected against reverse polarity connection or over-current.
These
self powered data loggers are configured using Signatrol’s
versatile TempIT software via an infrared reader, which draws power
from the COM port on the computer used for set up. Both units have
two internal programmable Hi-Lo software alarms and sample rates
can be programmed from 2 seconds to 24 hours. An internal 450 character
manifest can be scripted to include application and location details.
The
SL121i has a capacity of over 16000 readings. Additional features
in the SL121i include a green ‘active’ logging LED and
red alarm indication, which remains lit if pre-programmed current
levels are exceeded. An audible alarm also sounds if excursions
occur. The delayed start feature can be used in applications where
the logger set up is done in advance and remotely from the measuring
location.
Fast
Data download is carried out using the infra-red interface and the
TempIT software allows the user to graph in mA or other engineering
units.
Signatrol
expect the SL121i to find application across a broad spectrum of
process and control industries and the units are ideal for logging
at remote sites, especially in the water and waste industries, and
for conducting temporary investigations.
