The SL121T is a temperature data logger with audible and visible alarms. The SL121T is self contained, with internal batteries that last up to five years. The data loggers are configured using Signatrol's TempIT software via an infra red reader that takes its power from the COM port on the computer. The data logger can be programmed with a user manifest that can be used to describe the application that the data logger is being used for, vehicle and driver details if used for a transportation application or room details if used in a building management application. Once configured, the data logger is placed in the area or package to be monitored. At the end of the logging period, the data logger is taken back to the computer and the data downloaded. TempIT will then display the readings as a graph against time in the TempIT-Lite package or with an additional data table in the full TempIT package. If the SL121T is used, a green LED is activated when the data logger is logging, changing to red if the preprogrammed alarm levels are exceed giving instant indication that the logger has been subjected to physical conditions outside those set by the operator. There is also an audible alarm function to identify alarms conditions.

Stored readings are extracted simply and easily by placing the data logger face down on the SL120R infra-red reader. Once the readings have been extracted, the operator is presented with a graph of temperature against time. This graph can then be printed or saved away before the data logger memory is cleared down and reused.
