SL60 Series Bettery Life Statement
MAXIMISING BATTERY LIFE:
To obtain maximum battery life, the sample rate should be set to DISABLED when the data logger is not in use. In this mode, the data logger uses the lowest amount of battery power and only wakes periodically to check if an NFC reader is present. In DISABLED mode, the data logger will consume approximately 17% of its remaining battery life per year if kept at +20°C ambient.
SHELF LIFE:
Devices are shipped in a “NEW” state to the customer. In “NEW”, “MEMORY FULL” and “DISABLED SAMPLE RATE” operating modes, the battery power usage is identical.
The battery life reduction is temperature-related. The table below indicates that devices will use only 25% of the battery in the 1st year if the ambient temperature is limited to < +30°C, and to avoid condensation build-up in storage, the minimum storage temperature is +5°C.
The ideal storage temperature is +5°C to +30°C, with Humidity 25% to 60% RH.
The battery life below indicates how long a battery could last if the device is never used. For example, at +25°C, the battery is at 0.9% remaining after 6 years. But if you start using the logger after 6 years, little battery will remain to keep it operating.
